Project time can be effectively managed applying some methods. Here we are highlighting some of them:
Identifying Activities:
It’s an important task for a project manager to identify activities from high-level requirements.  He then breaks down the project into high-level tasks or deliverables.  These tasks are further broken down and assigned to teams in the form of Work Breakdown Structure.
Sequencing:
For effective time management a project manager does sequencing of activities. This is all about identifying activities and ordering them for timely execution.

 Resource Estimating:
A project manager estimates the amount and type of resources for doing the activities. The duration of a project varies depending upon the number of resources allocated for executing the task.
Scheduling:
Scheduling is one of the easiest methods for time management. Here the project manager takes stock of the tasks/activities to determine project duration based on the available resources and allocates the responsibility. Cost plays a vital role when scheduling is being done.  A project manager knows well that a schedule over-run can cost his project dear, so puts the leash on his resources for meeting the target on time.
